Here are 14 proven effective tips to help you get quick diabetic weight loss results:

  • Drink 8 eight ounce glasses of water a day. It will hydrate you and help wsuppress your appetite.
  • Stick to the US Department of Agriculture’s Food Pyramid of healthy foods. The American Diabetes Association (ADA) recommends that you eat leaner meats, lots of fruits and vegetables, whole grains and low fat dairy products. 50% of your calories should come from carbs.
  • Plan your meals. Build your weekly breakfasts, lunches and dinners ahead of time, focusing on Food Pyramid guidelines.

  • Don’t starve yourself. Crash diets are short term diets. Be sure to get at least 1,200 calories per day of carbohydrates (50% per ADA guidelines), proteins and minimal fats.
  • Eat smarter. Lean meats, bright colored vegetables, healthy whole grains. These flavorful foods can be eaten in smaller portions.
  • Eat slowly. Don’t gulp or swallow partially chewed foods.
  • Rotate your snacks. Rice cakes and carrots on a daily basis will reduce your motivation to eat healthy. Eat a variety of fruits and vegetables daily.
  • Eat 4-6 smaller meals per day, rather than 3 big ones.
  • Eat early. If you need to have a big meal, have it for breakfast or lunch, not dinner.
  • Exercise. Some studies suggest that regular, moderate exercise suppresses appetites.
